[136] At What Place Do People Who Recite Āmítuófó’s Name Ultimately Settle Their Bodies For Establishing Their Spiritual Lives?

[There] certainly should [be] only diligent [and] only singular firm upholding [of Ā]mítuó[fó’s name (阿弥陀佛)], [with] true Faith [and] sincere Aspiration, hoping for that rebirth [in his] Western [Pure Land Of Ultimate Bliss (极乐世界)].

Upholding it [for] long, [with the] mind [and the] Buddha one thus. Not departing [from] that thought, completely realising [the] aggregates’ emptiness. [With] false thoughts [and] attachments already eliminated, wisdom [and] virtues’ forms [are] also ‘eliminated’.

According [to] that mind pure, then [is the] Buddha Land pure. Not departing [from] that place, tacitly agreeing [with] stillness [and] light.

Only [at] this one place, then is our place of ultimately settling [our] bodies [for] establishing [our spiritual] lives.

May my disciple Zhìkōng, universally with [the] Dharma Realm’s sentient beings, together [be] bestowed [with] ‘return’ [to the Pure Land]. Then [is this] extremely fortunate, extremely fortunate!
