(This refers to doing our best to purify ourselves now, and to elevate society’s ethics on the whole with good thoughts, words and deeds, thus bettering this world in this life.)
信愿念佛，
同登极乐。
With Faith and Aspiration mindful of the Buddha,
together ascend the Pure Land Of Ultimate Bliss.
(This refers to giving rise to the Three Provisions [三资粮] of Faith, Aspiration and Practice [信愿行] to reach Pure Land [净土], thus perfecting ourselves most swiftly in the next life, as enlightened Bodhisattvas [菩萨] and Buddhas [佛陀], to most efficiently guide all to Buddhahood [佛果], thus bettering all worlds.)
