起念偈
Verses On Arising Thoughts
不怕念起，只怕觉迟。
一觉念恶，佛念即起。
Not fearing an evil thought arising,
only fear awareness being late.
Once aware a thought is evil,
have Buddha mindfulness immediately arising.
念佛一起，恶念即灭。
净念相继，西莲升起。
With mindfulness of Buddha once arising,
the evil thought will immediately cease.
With pure mindfulness in continuous succession,
your Western Pure Land’s lotus flower will rise.
