真修正法者，
依法不依人。
真护正法者，
护法不护人。
Verse On Protecting The Dharma
Those truly cultivating [the] Right Dharma,
rely [upon the] Dharma [and] rely not [upon any] person[ality].*
Those truly protecting [the] Right Dharma,
protect [the] Dharma [and] protect not [any] person[ality].*
*who might teach without relying upon the Dharma
