Blessings From Āmítuófó’s Twelve Lights 阿弥陀佛之十二光明的加持

一一光明，遍照十方世界
念佛众生，
摄取不舍。

Each [and every] one bright light, everywhere illuminates [the] ten directions’ worlds’ sentient beings [who are] mindful [of the] Buddha, gathering [and] receiving, not abandoning [them].

That [Amitābha] Thus Come [One’s] constant emitting [of] immeasurable [and] boundless wonderful light, [that] everywhere illuminates all [the] ten directions’ Buddha lands, giving [and] doing [the] Buddha’s matters without having obstacles.

Functions Of Āmítuófó’s Twelve Lights

[1] 无量光 Immeasurable Light:

As Āmítuófó’s light is immeasurable with all kinds of blessings below, it is able to reach immeasurable beings, including all of us, especially when we Niànfó (念佛) sincerely.

[2] 无边光 Boundless Light:

As Āmítuófó’s light is boundless with all his blessings, it helps us to overcome all suffering due to dualistically delusional attachments and aversions to extreme opposites, to gain equanimity, especially when we Niànfó sincerely.

[3] 无碍光 Unimpeded Light:

As Āmítuófó’s light is unimpeded (unobstructed) by anything, his blessings help us to overcome all our spiritual obscurations and physical obstacles, especially when we Niànfó sincerely.

[4] 无对光 Incomparable Light:

As Āmítuófó’s light is incomparable with his supreme blessings, it helps us to eradicate our negative karma, that conditions our physical and spiritual suffering, especially when we Niànfó sincerely. (念佛消业障)

[5] 焰王光 Flame-King Light:

As Āmítuófó’s light is so bright with his blessings, even beings in the darkness of the three lower realms can receive its blessings, what more us, especially when we Niànfó sincerely.

[6] 清净光 Pure Light:

As Āmítuófó’s light is so clear and pure with his blessings, our transgressions from greed are purified, especially when we Niànfó sincerely.

[7] 欢喜光 Joyful Light:

As Āmítuófó’s light is so joyful with his blessings, our transgressions from hatred are transformed to be peace and bliss, especially when we Niànfó sincerely.

[8] 智慧光 Wisdom Light:

As Āmítuófó’s light is so full of wisdom with his blessings, our transgressions from ignorance and delusion are transformed to be wisdom, especially when we Niànfó sincerely. (念佛开智慧)

[9] 不断光 Uninterrupted Light:

As Āmítuófó’s light illuminates uninterruptedly with his blessings, it helps us to be uninterrupted, to be diligent in our continual Niànfó, to experience all of his lights’ blessings, especially when we Niànfó sincerely.

[10] 难思光 Difficult-To-Conceive Light:

As Āmítuófó’s light is so inconceivable with his blessings, it has inconceivably more blessings
to benefit us with, especially when we Niànfó sincerely.
