[335] 慢佛、毁佛会遭祸吗？
[335] Will [Those Who] Disrespect Buddhas [And] Slander Buddhas Encounter Misfortune?
◎ 会。护法神必令其遭祸，以儆其效此作恶者。
◎ [Summary]: [They] will. Dharma-Protector gods, will enable them [to] encounter misfortune, with [this for] warning those [who] imitate these evil-doers.
佛虽慈悲广大，而欲度众生，须有折摄。
[The] Buddhas, although [are with] loving-kindness [and] compassion vast [and] great, yet desiring [to] deliver sentient beings, [there] must be refuting [and] protecting.
[Note:「折」is short for「折伏」, which is to ‘refute and subdue’.「摄」is short for 「摄受」, which is also to ‘gather and receive’.]
若慢佛、毁佛，佛实不生憎爱，然不行折伏，则无以为劝。
If disrespecting [the] Buddhas [and] slandering [the] Buddhas, [the] Buddhas truly [do] not give rise [to] hatred [and] love. However, [if] not practising refuting [and] subduing, then [is it] without [that] to use for persuading.
以故护法神，必令其遭祸，以儆其效此作恶者，其慈悲为何如也！
Therefore, Dharma Protector Gods, will enable them [to] encounter misfortune, with [this for] warning those [who] imitate these evil-doers. How compassionate they are!
