第一法门偈
Verses On The Foremost Dharma Door
本师证悟，先说华严，导归极乐，所以可说，
佛在世时，及入灭后，此时修者，皆可生西，
正法时期，五百年间，净土法门，第一法门。
As when our Fundamental Teacher realised and awakened to Buddhahood, he first spoke the Flower Adornment Sūtra, to guide ‘return’ to the Pure Land Of Ultimate Bliss, therefore, it can be said, that when the Buddha was in this world, and after entering Parinirvāṇa, those in this period cultivating, all can be born in the Western Pure Land, in the Right Dharma Age, for five hundred years between, the Pure Land Dharma Door, was the foremost Dharma Door.
本师已在，大经中说，经道灭尽，特留此经，
值斯经者，皆可得度，此时修者，皆可生西，
末法时期，一万年间，净土法门，第一法门。
As our Fundamental Teacher already, within the Great(er Immeasurable Life) Sūtra spoke, that ‘when sūtras’ paths are destroyed completely’, he ‘will specially retain this sūtra’, so that those ‘who encounter this sūtra’, ‘all can attain deliverance’, those in this period cultivating, all can be born in the Western Pure Land, in this Dharma-Ending Age, for ten thousand years between, the Pure Land Dharma Door, is the foremost Dharma Door.
正至末期，二期之中，念佛法门，所以能续，
自然而然，仍是居先，此时修者，皆可生西，
像法时期，一千年间，净土法门，第一法门。
As from the Right Dharma Age until the Dharma-Ending Age, between these two ages, the Dharma Door Of Mindfulness Of Buddha, therefore able to continue, naturally and certainly, it was still that leading first, those in this period cultivating, all can be born in the Western Pure Land, in the Dharma-Semblance Age, for a thousand years between, the Pure Land Dharma Door, was the foremost Dharma Door.
