念佛功德大于供养一切众生
Mindfulness [Of] Buddha’s Meritorious Virtues [Are] Greater Than Making Offerings [To] All Sentient Beings
大王!假使一月常以衣食供养恭敬一切众生,不如有人一念念佛,所得功德十六分一。
Great King, if [for] one month, constantly with clothing [and] food making offerings reverently [to] all sentient beings, [this is] not equal to having [a] person [with] one thought mindful [of the] Buddha, those attained meritorious virtues’ sixteen parts’ one [part].
大王!假使锻金为人车马载宝,其数各百以用布施,不如有人发心向佛举足一步。
Great King, if forging gold, for people, [with] chariots [and] horses carrying treasures, [with] their number each [a] hundred, with [them] used [for] giving, [this is] not equal [to] having [a] person giving rise [to the] aspiration, towards [the] Buddha raising [a] foot [for] one step.
