颛蒙念佛，亦能潜通佛智
[309] [With] Ignorance Mindful [Of The] Buddha, Also Able [To] Subtly [And] Thoroughly Understand [The] Buddhas’ Wisdom
若大通家，则禅净双修，而必以净土为主。
If [as] great [and] extensive experts, then [with] Chán [and] Pure [Land practices] both cultivated, yet [they] must [be] with [the] Pure Land [practice] as [the] main.
若普通人，则亦不必令其遍研深经奥论，但令诸恶莫作，众善奉行，一心念佛求生西方即已。
If [as] ordinary persons, then also not needing [to] enable them [to] completely study [the] profound sūtras [and] obscure treatises, only enabling ‘[of] all evil not doing, [of] all good practising’, [and with] wholehearted mindfulness [of] Buddha seeking birth [in his] Western [Pure Land Of Ultimate Bliss] thus.
此人不废居家业，而兼修出世法。虽似平常无奇，而其利益不可思议。
These people, not abandoning householder activities, [are] then simultaneously cultivating world-transcending Dharma. Although resembling [the] ordinary without [the] unusual, yet their benefits [are] inconceivable.
良以愚夫愚妇，颛蒙念佛，即能潜通佛智，暗合道妙。
[This is] really because foolish men [and] foolish women, [with] ignorance mindful [of the] Buddha, [are] then able [to] subtly [and] thoroughly understand [the] Buddhas’ wisdom, [to] implicitly agree [with the] path’s wonders.
校比大通家之卜度思量，终日在分别中弄识神者，为益多多也。
Compared [with] great [and] extensive experts, of those speculating [and] considering, all day within differentiation ‘playing’ with [the] consciousness, [they] are [with] benefits very much [more].
