[75] [With] Mindfulness [Of] Buddha Aspiring [For] Rebirth, Not Destroying Lifespan [To] Obtain Realisation
Of people [who practise] mindfulness [of] Buddha [i.e. 阿弥陀佛: Āmítuófó], [they] should retain [the] mind of immediately [being able to] attain rebirth [in his Pure Land, at any time]. If yet [to] arrive [at when this] retribution [body has been] fulfilled, likewise [should they] only trust [their] conditions.
If setting [a] date [with the] desire [for] birth, if skills [have] matured, then [is this] definitely without obstacles. Otherwise, [if] then only [with] this seeking mind, then becoming [a] demonic root. If these false thoughts form [and] becomes [a] mass that cannot [be] untied, then [are the] dangers unspeakable.
[At the] end [of this] retribution [body] surrendering sincerely, thus [is this the] path that we should follow. Destroying [of] lifespans [to] obtain realisation, truly [is by] words of [the] Precepts’ Sūtra that deeply reproached.
([The] Brahma Net Sūtra’s epilogue [has a] verse [that] says, ‘Those [with] thoughts [of] calculation [with] self-attachment, [are] not able [to] give rise [to] these Dharma [teachings]. Those [who] destroy [their] lifespans [to] obtain realisation, [are] also not places [for] sowing [its] seeds.’)
[They] only should, [with] utmost reverence [and] utmost sincerity seek quick birth, [and] should not set [a] date [with the] definite desire [to] then [be] born.

[75] Only [With] Utmost Sincerity [And] Utmost Reverence, Waiting For [The] End [Of This] Retribution Body [For] Rebirth
Of people [who] learn [the] path, [their] minds must not [have] partial attachment. [With] partial attachment, perhaps causing loss [of their] minds [with the] sickness [of] madness, then not only [is this] without benefits, then also [with] them harmed.
[For those with] pure karmas, if matured, today immediately [being] born [is] even better. If yet [to be] matured, then desiring [to be] reborn, [this] then becomes [the] pulling up [of] sprouts [to] ‘help’ [them] ‘grow.’
Truly fearing [that if] demonic matters once arise, not only [with] oneself not able [to be] reborn, moreover causing [those] ignorant [to] perhaps retrogress [in their] faithful minds, saying mindfulness [of] Buddha has harms [and is] without benefits, [with those] certain persons thus used as references, then [is] this harm truly not slight.
[I] implore [that you], with [the] mind of definitely setting [a] date, changed [to] become [the] mind of only aspiring [for] quick rebirth, even [if] not quickly, likewise without that [of] regret. Only [with] utmost sincerity [and] utmost reverence, waiting for [the] end [of this] retribution [body], rebirth [is] then possible. Without impetuousness [and] haste forming [a] mass, leading [to the] misfortune of attracting demonic matters.
