以智慧觉照心性
[114] With Wisdom [And] Awareness Illuminate Mind-Nature
众生一念,与佛无二。由迷而未悟,则全智慧德相,成烦恼业苦。心本是一,迷悟殊则苦乐异矣。
Sentient beings’ one thought, with [the] Buddhas’ [are] not two. Due [to] confusion then, yet [to] awaken, then [with] complete wisdom [and] virtues’ forms, becoming afflictions [and evil] karmas’ suffering. [Their] minds originally are one, [with] confusion [and] awakening different, then [with] suffering [and] bliss different.
是知一念心性,本是智慧功德海。由烦恼障蔽,无智慧照了,则全体成烦恼业苦海。
[With] this, know [that this] one thought’s mind-nature, originally is wisdom [and] meritorious virtues’ ocean. Due [to] afflictions obstructing, without wisdom illuminating completely, then entirely becoming afflictions [and evil] karmas’ suffering ocean.
今以智慧觉照之,则即烦恼业苦海,成智慧功德海。
Now with wisdom [and] awareness illuminating it, then immediately [will] afflictions [and evil] karmas’ suffering ocean, become wisdom [and] meritorious virtues’ ocean.
故《华严经》云:「一切众生,皆具如来智慧德相。但以妄想执著,而不证得。若离妄想,则一切智、无碍智,即得现前。」
Thus [does the] Flower Adornment [i.e. Avataṃsaka] Sūtra say, ‘All sentient beings, [are] all complete [with] Thus Come [Ones’] wisdom [and] virtues’ forms, only because [of] false thoughts [and] attachment, then not [able to] realise [and] attain [them]. If departing [from] false thoughts, then [will] all-[knowing] wisdom [and] unobstructed wisdom, immediately [be] attained [and] manifest before [them].’
