[3] Third Month: [The] Third Month’s Clear [And] Bright [Festival]…
三月清明瞥眼过，
伤心无那是愁何？
[The] third month’s Clear [And] Bright [Festival, at a] glance [of the] eye passes [by, with] grieving hearts without choice, is sorrow [for] whom?
满城风雨歌声少，
十里山坟哭响多。
Filling cities [with] winds [and] rain, singing voices [are] few, [while] ten lǐs [of] mountain graves’ cries [and] echoes [are] many.
早趁在生修净业，
莫教临死怨阎罗。
Take early advantage, while alive, [to] cultivate pure karma, [to] not cause, [when] approaching death, resentment [of King] Yama.
故乡春色还长在，
想见芙蓉出绿波。
[The] homeland’s spring’s colours [in Pure Land] still long exist, [when] thinking, seeing [its] lotus flowers spreading [with] green waves.
