[As this] presently manifested one thought of [our] minds, from ancient times extends to now, [it is] thus named ‘Immeasurable Life’.
[As its] bright spirituality [can] thoroughly understand, [it is] thus named ‘Immeasurable Light’.
Āmítuófó, [whose name means the ‘Awakened One (i.e. Buddha) Of Immeasurable Life And Light’], merely first attained [what is] only [the] same thusness [as] that of our minds.
Therefore, if we [are] able [to, with] thought [to] thought, firmly uphold [the name of] Āmítuófó, [this] is the same as [to, with] thought [to] thought, realise Immeasurable Life, [and] emit Immeasurable Light.
[For] ancient sages since thus, [for] today’s people likewise so.
[With] sincere minds since thus, [with] scattered minds likewise so.
