[14] 以何种因缘往生同居净土?
[14] With What Kind [Of] Cause [And] Conditions [Is There] Rebirth [In The] Together Dwelling Pure Land?
◎ 生同居,由信愿而念佛,蒙佛接引而生。带业往生之人,由内承心佛自性之力,外蒙弥陀慈悲之力,感应道交。虽未断烦惑,而烦惑不复用事,故得往生最极清净之同居土。
◎ [Summary]: [Those] born [in the Ordinary And Noble Beings’] Together Dwelling [Land] [凡圣同居土], [are] due [to] Faith, Aspiration and reciting [of Āmítuó]fó[’s name (阿弥陀佛), to] receive [the] Buddha’s reception [and] guidance, [to] then [be] born. Those persons [who] bring karmas [to be] reborn, [are] due [to] inner bearing [of the] power of [the] mind’s Buddha’s self-nature, [and] outer receiving [of the] power of [Ā]mítuó[fó’s] loving-kindness [and] compassion, [with] connection [and] response [for] mutual interaction. Although yet [to] sever afflictions [and] confusions, yet not again [with] afflictions [and] confusions handling matters, [they] thus attain rebirth [in the] utmost pure of Together Dwelling Lands.
实报土,唯破无明证法性者得见。何得以带业往生之人,便拟生实报耶?
[Of the] True Reward [Without Obstacles] Land [实报无障碍土], only those [who have] destroyed ignorance [and] realised Dharma-nature attain sight [of it]. How can those persons [who] bring karmas [to be] reborn, then [be] similar [to those] born [in the] True Reward [Land]?
生同居,由信愿而念佛,蒙佛接引而生。
[Those] born [in the Ordinary And Noble Beings’] Together Dwelling [Land] [凡圣同居土], [are] due [to] Faith, Aspiration and reciting [of Āmítuó]fó[’s name (阿弥陀佛), to] receive [the] Buddha’s reception [and] guidance, [to] then [be] born.
盖彼虽未断烦惑,由内承心佛自性之力,外蒙弥陀慈悲之力,感应道交,虽未断烦惑,而烦惑不复用事,故得往生最极清净之同居土。
About those, although yet [to] sever afflictions [and] confusions, due [to] inner bearing [of the] power of [the] mind’s Buddha’s self-nature, [and] outer receiving [of the] power of [Ā]mítuó[fó’s] loving-kindness [and] compassion, [with] connection [and] response [for] mutual interaction, although yet [to] sever afflictions [and] confusions, yet not again [with] afflictions [and] confusions handling matters, [they] thus attain rebirth [in the] utmost pure of Together Dwelling Lands.
汝疑所生之土,当不能清净,并阿弥陀之胜妙色身,此等众生不当即见者,乃以汝所见者为是,以弥陀之誓愿,释迦之言教,诸菩萨祖师善知识之发挥著述皆错也。
You doubt that of [that] born land, [thinking it] should not [be] able [to be] pure. Also, [that] of [the] supremely wonderful physical body of Āmítuófó, this kind [of] sentient beings should not immediately see [it]. Thus with your those views as true, [this is] with [the] vows [of] Āmítuófó, spoken teachings of Śākya[muni Buddha, and] that brought out [in] all Bodhisattvas, Patriarchs [and] good-knowing friends’ writings [as] all wrong.
唯汝所见为最的确最高超,汝作此见,乃谤佛谤法谤僧,将来当与提婆达多同享极乐于阿鼻大地狱中。
Only [with] your those views as [the] most real [and] most excellent, your creating [of] these views, thus slander [the] Buddha, slander [the] Dharma [and] slander [the] Saṃgha. [In the] future, [you] will [be] with Devadatta together enjoying ‘ultimate bliss’ within Avīci’s great hell.
其为乐也,莫能喻焉。恐尽未来际,尚不间断其受用于种种乐事。
That as ‘bliss’, [is] not able [to be with] analogy [explained]. Fearing exhausting [the] future’s limit, still uninterruptedly [with] that ‘benefitting’ from all kinds [of] ‘blissful’ matters.
汝欲享此乐,请依汝知见而说,如不欲享此乐,纵令势促威逼亦不可说也。
[If] you desire [to] enjoy this ‘bliss’, please rely on your ‘knowledge [and] views’ [to] then speak. If not desiring [to] enjoy this ‘bliss’, even if [by] power pressed [and] threatened, [you] also must not speak [thus].
