[3] 阿弥陀佛第十八愿如何摄受众生往生？
[3] How Does Āmítuófó’s 18th Vow Gather [And] Receive Sentient Beings [For] Rebirth [In His Pure Land]?
◎ 阿弥陀佛有大势力，誓愿度生。其中第十八愿说：「设我得佛，十方众生，至心信乐，欲生我国，乃至十念，若不生者，不取正觉。」
◎ [Summary]: Āmítuófó has great power, [and] vows [to] deliver beings. Within them, [his] 18th Vow says, ‘If I attain Buddhahood, [of the] ten directions’ sentient beings, [with the] sincere mind [of] joyful faith, desiring birth [in] my land, and even [with] ten thoughts, if [there are] those not born [there, I shall] not obtain Right Awakening.’
阿弥陀佛于往劫中，发四十八愿，度脱众生。
Āmítuófó, within past kalpas [ago], gave rise [to] forty-eight vows, [to] deliver [and] liberate sentient beings.
有一愿云，「若有众生闻我名号，求生我国，乃至十念，若不生者，不取正觉。」
[He] has one vow [which] says, ‘If [there] are sentient beings, [who] hear my name, seeking birth [in] my land, and even [with] ten thoughts, if [there are] those not born [there, I shall] not obtain Right Awakening.’
阿弥陀佛誓愿度生，若众生不求接引，佛亦无可奈何。
[With] Āmítuófó’s vows [to] deliver beings, if sentient beings [do] not seek [to be] received [and] guided, [the] Buddha [is] also [with] no way to help [them].
倘志心称名，誓求出离娑婆者，无一不蒙垂慈摄受也。
If [there are] those [with the] sincere mind reciting [his] name, vowing [to] seek departure [from this] Sahā [World (娑婆世界), it is] without one not receiving [his] extended compassion, [to be] gathered [and] received.
阿弥陀佛有大势力，能拔娑婆无底而厕坑不赦牢狱之人，直下出离其中，悉皆安置于极乐本有家乡，令其入佛境界，同佛受用也。
Āmítuófó has great power, [that is] able [to] pull out those people [from this] bottomless Sahā [World, reaching those] then [in] latrine pits [and those] unpardoned [in] prisons, [to] directly depart [from] them within, [with] all peacefully settled in [his Land Of] Ultimate Bliss, [their] originally existing homeland, [to] enable them [to] enter [the] Buddha’s realm, together [with the] Buddha’s benefits.
