以欲钩牵，令入佛智
With [That] Desired Hooking [And] Leading, Enabling Entering [Of The] Buddhas‘ Wisdom
菩萨之心，犹如太虚，无不包括，欲利益众生，作种种方便，先以欲钩牵，后令入佛智，不得以凡夫知见，妄生测度，以彼已证法忍，了无人我之可得。
[The] minds of Bodhisattvas [are] similar to space, without [that] not included. Desiring [to] benefit sentient beings, creating all kinds [of] skilful [means], first with [that] desired hooking [and] leading, [to] later enable entering [of the] Buddhas’ wisdom. [There] must not [be], with ordinary beings‘ knowledge [and] views, falsely giving rise [to their] measure. With them [having] already realised Dharma Forbearance, [they are] completely without others [and] self that can [attained].
唯欲摄受一切众生，入于如来大觉法海，若有计较，便属情见，便与无人我之道不能冥契矣。
Only desiring [to] gather [and] receive all sentient beings, [for] entering of Thus Come [Ones’] great awakening‘s Dharma ocean. If having comparison, then belonging [to] sentient views, then with [the] path of others [and] self, not able [to] tacitly agree [with them].
云布施头目髓脑则诚然，至于妓女彩女等，不过扩充菩萨布施之心，不可以词害意。…
Speaking [of] giving heads, eyes [and] brains, [this is] then indeed true. Going as far as to [manifest as] prostitutes, palace maids [and] others, only expanding Bodhisattvas’ minds of giving, [there] must not [be], with words destroying [this] meaning…
彼受施者，由菩萨愿力摄持，或于即时，或于后世，无不亲蒙利益，了生脱死。
[Of] those [who] receive that given, due [to the] Bodhisattvas‘ vows’ power gathering [and] upholding [them], perhaps when immediately, or in [a] later life, [they are] without [those] not personally receiving benefits, [to be] liberated [from the cycle of] birth [and] death.
如歌利王之割截身体，后为最初得度之憍陈如。此种如太虚量之大菩提心，何可以凡夫小知小见测量？
Like King Kalirājā who cut off [the Buddha-to-be’s] body [parts], later [becoming the] first [to] attain deliverance as Kauṇḍinya. [Of] this kind of Great Bodhi Mind, like [the] measure of space, how can [we] with ordinary beings‘ little knowledge [and] little views measure [it]?
