[33] Those Who Have Accomplished Utmost Positions, Are Also Not Able To Abandon the Pure Land Dharma Door 做到极处,亦不能舍净土法门

善得益者,无往而非益。鸦鸣鹊噪,水流风动,无不指示当人本有天真(禅宗所谓祖师西来大意)。

Those good [at] attaining benefits, [are] without [places] gone [to] then not benefitting. [Of] crows crying [and] magpies chirping, rivers flowing [and] breezes moving, none [do] not point out being human’s originally existing natural true [nature]. ([This is the] great meaning [of the] Chán Tradition’s so-called ‘[the] Patriarch coming [from the] West.’)

况光之《文钞》,文虽拙朴,所述者皆佛祖成言,不过取其意而随机变通说之,岂光所杜撰乎哉?

Moreover, of [Yìn]guāng’s ‘Collected Writings’, [with] text although unsophisticated, [as] that stated [are] all [with the] Buddhas [and] Patriarchs’ [already] formed words, merely obtaining their meanings, and according [to] situations flexibly speaking them, how can they be [by Yìn]guāng those fabricated?

光乃传言译语,令初机易于晓了耳。然虽为初机,即做到极处,亦不能舍此别修。

[Yìn]guāng [is] thus [with] transmitted words [and] translated speech, leading beginners [to] easily know [and] understand [them] clearly only. However, although for beginners, even if [as those who have] accomplished utmost positions, [they are] also not able [to] abandon this [Pure Land Dharma Door for] other cultivation [methods].
