《往生净土发愿文》
Aspiration Text [For] Rebirth [In] Pure Land
《大回向文》
Great Dedication Text
愿我临终无障碍，
阿弥陀佛远相迎。
May I, [when] approaching [life’s] end, [be] without obstacles, [with] Amitā[bha] Buddha [i.e. Āmítuófó] [from] afar, receiving one another.
观音甘露洒吾头，
势至金台安我足。
[May] Contemplator [Of The World’s] Sounds [Bodhisattva (观世音菩萨: Guānshìyīn Púsà) with] ambrosia sprinkle [on] my head, [and Great] Power Arrived [Bodhisattva (大势至菩萨: Dàshìzhì Púsà) bring a] golden dais [for] placing my feet.
一刹那中离五浊，
曲伸臂顷到莲池。
Within one kṣaṇa [i.e. instant] departing [from the] five defilements, [with] bending [or] extending [of an] arm, [in a] moment reaching [a] lotus pond.
莲花开后见慈尊，
亲听法音可了了。
After [my] lotus flower blossoms, seeing [the] Compassionate Honoured [One], personally hearing [the] Dharma’s sounds, may [I] realise [it] clearly.
闻已即悟无生忍，
不违安养入娑婆。
Hearing [it] already, immediately awakening [to] non-birth’s forbearance, not stopping [in the Land Of] Peaceful Nurturing, entering [this] Sahā [World].
善知方便度众生，
巧把尘劳为佛事。
[With] good knowledge [of] expedient means [for] delivering sentient beings, [with] skilful regarding [of their] dusty labours [i.e. afflictions] doing Buddhas’ practices.
我愿如斯佛自知，
毕竟当来得成就。
[With] my aspirations like these, [may the] Buddha personally know [them], ultimately, [in the] future, attaining [their] accomplishment.
