宋会稽金太公
[25] Sòng [Dynasty’s] Kuàijī’s Jīn Tàigōng
太公名奭，网鱼为业。
Tàigōng’s name [was] Shì, [with] catching fish as livelihood.
一日改业，持阿弥陀佛日万声，蔬素修行，不曾暂辍。
One day, [he] changed [his] livelihood, [and] upheld Āmítuófó[‘s name for] ten thousand recitations daily, [with] veg[etari]anism cultivating practice, not once temporarily stopping.
后无疾告家人云：「我见阿弥陀佛与观音、势至在门前，我今归净土也。」
Later without sickness, [he] told [his] family members, ‘[As] I see Amitā[bha] Buddha, Contemplator [Of] Sounds [Bodhisattva] and Power Arrived [Bodhisattva] before [the] door, I [will] now return [to the] Pure Land.’
次日又云：「我已见金莲华来迎我矣。」
[The] next day, also saying, ‘I [have] already seen [a] golden lotus flower come [to] welcome me.’
索香炉，安坐捏印而化。
Asking [for an] incense censer, [he] peacefully sat, [with his] fingers forming [a] mudrā, [he] then departed.
乡村远近闻音乐，异香终日不散。时政和六年。
[In the] village, [those from] far [and] near heard music, [and smelled] extraordinary fragrance, [which to the] end [of the] day [did] not disperse. [It was] then Zhènghé’s sixth year [i.e. 1116 C.E.].
