信为道元 [1]
Faith Is [The] Path’s Origin [1]
深心净信不可坏,
恭敬供养一切佛,
尊重正法及圣僧,
信敬三宝故发心。
[With the] resolute mind [of] pure Faith [that] cannot [be] destroyed, reverently making offerings [to] all Buddhas, honouring [the] right Dharma and [the] noble Saṃgha, [with] Faith [and] reverence [for the] Triple Gem, thus giving rise [to the Bodhi] Mind.
深信诸佛及正法,
亦信菩萨所行道,
正心信向佛菩提,
菩萨因是初发心。
[With] profound Faith [in] all Buddhas and [the] right Dharma, likewise [with] Faith [in the] Bodhisattvas’ practice path, [with the] upright mind [and] Faith towards [the] Buddhas’ Bodhi, Bodhisattvas’ cause is [this] initial given rise mind.
信为道元功德母,
增长一切诸善法,
除灭一切诸疑惑,
示现开发无上道。
Faith is [the] path’s origin [and] meritorious virtues’ mother, [that] increases [and] grows all good Dharmas, eliminates all doubts [and] confusions, manifests [and] opens up [the] unsurpassable path.
净信离垢心坚固,
灭除憍慢恭敬本,
信是宝藏第一法,
为清净手受众行。
[With] pure Faith departed [from] defilements, [the] mind [is] firm, [with] eliminating arrogance [is] reverence’s root, Faith is [the] treasury’s first Dharma, as pure hands [for] receiving all practices.

信为道元 [2]

深心信解常清净,
恭敬尊重一切佛,
于法及僧亦如是,
至诚供养而发心。
[With the] resolute mind [of] Faith [and] understanding constantly pure, [with] reverence honouring all Buddhas, in [the] Dharma and Saṃgha likewise thus, [with] utmost sincerity offering and giving rise [to the Bodhi] Mind.
深信于佛及佛法,
亦信佛子所行道,
及信无上大菩提,
菩萨以是初发心。
[With] profound Faith in [the] Buddhas and [the] Buddhas’ Dharma, likewise [with] Faith [in the] Buddhas’ disciples’ practice path, and [with] Faith [in] unsurpassable great Bodhi, Bodhisattvas [are] with this [as their] initial given rise mind.
信为道元功德母,
长养一切诸善法,
断除疑网出爱流,
开示涅槃无上道。
Faith is [the] path’s origin [and] meritorious virtues’ mother, [that] grows [and] nurtures all good Dharmas, severs [and] eliminates doubts’ net, exits attachments’ flow, [and] opens up Nirvāṇa’s unsurpassable path.
信无垢浊心清净,
灭除憍慢恭敬本,
亦为法藏第一财,
为清净手受众行。
[With] Faith without defilements, [the] mind [is] pure, [with] eliminating arrogance [is] reverence’s root, likewise is [the] Dharma treasury’s first wealth, as pure hands [for] receiving all practices.
