As much as you try to heal yourself physically,
you still have to die eventually,
and death can come suddenly.
As such, the true total healing of body and mind
is at least the securing of birth in Pure Land,
where there will be freedom…
… from all physical diseases from negative karma,
and from all mental diseases
from attachment, aversion and delusion.
As much as there is endless clinging
to being healed perfectly in Samsara,
there will be attachment to Samsara, lack of aspiration to reach Pure Land.
Any ‘teaching’ that emphasizes temporal healing
over actual healing not only falls short,
it can keep enlightenment at bay indefinitely .
