[262] [The] Heart Dharma Of [The] Heart Sūtra

《大般若》广约佛法、众生法，以明心法，有六百卷之多。

[The] Great Prajñā [Sūtra]《大般若经》[is] vast [with the] key points [of the] Buddhas’ Dharma [teachings and] sentient beings’ Dharma [teachings], with [it] explaining [the] heart Dharma, [it] has as many [as] six hundred scrolls.

此经略约心法，以明佛法、众生法。

This [Heart] Sūtra《心经》[is] brief [with the] key points [of its] heart Dharma, with [it] explaining [the] Buddhas’ Dharma [teachings and] sentient beings’ Dharma [teachings too].

文仅二百六十字，而十法界因果事理，无不毕具。以约摄博，了无遗义。

[Its] text [is] only [with] two hundred [and] sixty words, yet [of the] ten dharma realms’ causes [and] conditions, practices [and] principles, [it is] without [that] not complete. With [the] brief gathering [the] extensive, [it is] complete [and] without omitted meanings.

若约而言之，则「照见五蕴皆空，度一切苦厄」二句，复为全经枢纽。

If briefly then speaking [of] it, [it is] then [with] ‘contemplate [upon and] realise [the] five aggregates [to] all [be of] emptiness, [and] cross over all suffering [and] difficulties’, [these] two lines, again as [the] complete sūtra’s pivot.

再约而言之，只一「照」字，便可法法圆彰，法法圆泯，彰泯俱寂，一真彻露。

Even [more] briefly then speaking [of] it, [it is] only [with] ‘contemplate’, [this] one word. Then can each [and] every dharma [be] completely ‘manifested’, each [and] every dharma [be] completely ‘eliminated’, [with the] ‘manifested’ [and] ‘eliminated’ together still, [with the] one True [Suchness] [真如] thoroughly revealed.

诚可谓如来之心印，大藏之纲宗，九法界之指南，《大般若》之关键。义不可思议，功德亦不可思议。

[This] truly can [be] called [the] mind seal of [the] Thus Come [One, the] guiding principle of [the] great treasury [of sūtras]《大藏经》, [the] compass of [the] nine dharma realms, [and the] key point of [the] Great Prajñā [Sūtra. With] meanings inconceivable, [its] meritorious virtues [are] likewise inconceivable.
