子若回心，亲必摄受
[52] If [The] Child Returns [The] Mind, [The] Parent [Will] Definitely Gather [And] Receive
良以佛视众生，犹如一子。
[It is] really because [the] Buddha [Āmítuófó (阿弥陀佛)] sees [each] sentient being, similar to [his] only child.
于善顺者，固能慈育。于恶逆者，倍生怜愍。
For those good following [him, he is] certainly able [to be with] loving-kindness nurturing [them]. For those evil going against [him, he] doubly gives rise [to] sympathy [for them].
子若回心向亲，亲必垂慈摄受。
[A] child, if returning [the] mind towards [the] parent, [the] parent [will] definitely extend compassion [to] gather [and] receive [him or her].
又复众生心性，与佛无二。由迷背故，起惑造业，锢蔽本心，不能彰显。
Also again, sentient beings’ mind-nature, [is] with [the] Buddhas’ not two. Due [to] confusions departing [from it] thus, giving rise [to] delusions [to] create [evil] karmas, confining [and] concealing [their] original minds, not able [to] clearly manifest [them].
倘能一念回光，直同云开月现。性本不失，月属固有。
If able [to have] one thought returning light [within, this is] directly [the] same [as] clouds dispersing, [with the] moon appearing. [Their] nature [is] originally never lost, [like the] moon belonging [to that] inherently existing.
故得历劫情尘，一念顿断。又如千年暗室，一灯即明。
Thus attaining [those] passionate defilements passing kalpas, [to be with] one thought suddenly severed. Also like [a] thousand-year-[long] dark room, [with] one lamp immediately brightened.
