佛果偈
Verses [On The] Fruit [Of] Buddhahood
若信自力，
即身成佛，
命却过半，
佛果仍远。
一再轮回，
忘尽今生，
不定学佛，
何来佛果？
If [having] faith [in] self-power, in this body accomplishing Buddhahood, [this] life [has] however, [already] passed [by] more than half, [with the] fruit [of] Buddhahood still far [away].
Once again reborn [here], forgetting completely [this] present life, [and] not definitely learning Buddhism [again, from] where comes [the] fruit [of] Buddhahood?
若信念佛，
即身往生，
命将尽时，
佛迎佛国。
一登净土，
忆诸前世，
入正定聚，
速证佛果。
If [having] faith [in] mindfulness [of] Buddha, in this life reborn [in Pure Land], when life [is] about [to] ‘end’, [the] Buddha welcomes [to his] Buddha land.
Once ascending [onto his] Pure Land, recollecting all past lives, [and] entering [the] Right Definite Assembly, quickly realising [the] fruit [of] Buddhahood.
