「相随心现」与「唯心无境」之别
[291] Differences Between ‘Forms Following [The] Mind Appearing’ And ‘Mind-Only Without [A] Realm’
念佛人临终蒙佛接引,乃生佛感应道交。
Persons [with] mindfulness [of the] Buddha [i.e. Āmítuófó (阿弥陀佛)], [when] approaching [life’s] end receiving [the] Buddha’s reception [and] guidance, thus [are with] sentient beings [and the] Buddha [having] connection [and] response [for] mutual interaction.
虽不离想心,亦不得谓独是想心所现,绝无佛圣迎接之事。
Although not departing [from the] thinking mind, [this] also must not [be] called [to] only [be with] this thinking mind that appearing, [to] absolutely [be] without [the] matter of [the] Buddha [and his] noble [assembly] welcoming [and] receiving [them].
心造地狱,临终则地狱相现。心造佛国,临终则佛国相现。
[With the] mind creating [the] hells, [when] approaching [life’s] end, then [with the] hells’ forms appearing. [With the] mind creating [the] Buddha Land, [when] approaching [life’s] end, then [with the] Buddha Land’s forms appearing.
谓「相随心现」则可,谓「唯心无境」则不可。
[If] calling [this to be] ‘forms following [the] mind appearing’, [this] then can [be done. If] calling [this to be] ‘mind-only without [a] realm’, [this] then must not [be done].
「唯心无境」,须是圆证唯心之大觉世尊说之,则无过。
[On that] ‘mind-only without [a] realm’, this must [be with the] Great Awakened World-Honoured [One’s] complete realisation [of] mind-only speaking of this, then [is it] without fault.
阁下若说,则堕断灭知见,是破坏如来修证法门之邪说也,可不慎诸?
Your excellency, if speaking [of this, as it] then falls [into] nihilistic understanding [i.e. knowledge [and] view], [which] is [an] evil teaching that destroys [the] Thus Come [One’s] cultivation [and] realisation’s Dharma Doors, [how] can [there be] incautiousness?
