《金刚经》未言理性之果报
[292] [The] Vajra Sūtra [Has] Yet [To] Speak [Of] Principles’ Nature’s Fruits’ Rewards
来书所说二种邪见,乃以凡夫知见,测度如来境界。此种人,本无有可与谈之资格价值。
[Your] incoming letter’s those spoken two kinds [of] evil views, thus [are] with ordinary beings’ knowledge [and] views, measuring [the] Thus Come [One’s] realm. This kind [of] persons originally [do] not have those qualifications [and] values, [with which they] can discuss [it] with.
然佛慈广大,不弃一物,不妨设一方便,以醒彼迷梦。
However, [just as the] Buddha’s compassion [is] vast [and] great, not abandoning [even] one being, there is no harm [to] establish a skilful means, with [it for] waking those [in] confusions dreaming.
佛由其了无贪心,故感此众宝庄严,诸凡化现,不须人力经营之殊胜境界。岂可与娑婆世界之凡夫境界相比乎?
[The] Buddha [i.e. Āmítuófó (阿弥陀佛)], due [to] him [being] completely without [the] greedy mind, thus connecting [to] all these treasures’ adornments’ all manifestations, [do] not need human efforts [to] manage his supreme realm [i.e. Pure Land (净土)]. How can [they be] with ordinary beings’ realms of [this] Sahā World compared [with] one another?
譬如慈善有德之人,心地行为,悉皆正大光明,故其相貌,亦现慈善光华之相。彼固无心求相貌容颜之好,而自然会好。
For example, like persons benevolent [and] kind who have virtuous [practices] [德性], [their] mind grounds [and] behaviour, [are] all upright [and] honourable. Thus [will] their appearances, also appear [with] forms of benevolence [and] kindness [that are] radiant. Those certainly [are] without minds [to] seek appearances [and] countenances that [are] good, yet [they] will naturally [look] good.
造业之人,其心地龌龊、污秽、凶恶,其面亦随之黯晦、凶恶。
[Of] those persons creating [evil] karmas, [with] their mind grounds filthy, defiled [and] ferocious, their faces [will] also accordingly [be] dull, dark [and] ferocious.
彼固唯欲面色之好,令人以己为正大光明之善人。而心地不善,纵求亦了不可得,此约凡夫眼见者。
Those certainly only desiring complexion that [is] good, [to] cause others to regard themselves as those upright [and] honourable good persons, yet, [with] mind grounds not good, even if seeking [this, it is] also completely unattainable. This [is] restricted [to] those ordinary beings’ eyes seen.
若鬼神,则见善人身有光明。光明之大小,随其德之大小。见恶人则身有黑暗、凶煞等相,其相之大小,亦随恶之大小而现。
If [as] ghosts [and] gods, [they] then see good persons’ bodies [to] have bright lights. [Their] bright lights, those great [and] small, accord [with] their virtues, those great [and] small. Seeing evil persons, then [with] bodies [that] have darkness, fiendishness [and] other forms. Their forms, those great [and] small, also accord [with] those evils great [and] small [to] then appear.
彼谓《金刚经》为空,不知《金刚经》乃发明理性,未言及证理性而所得之果报。
Those calling [the] Vajra Sūtra [to] be [about] emptiness, [do] not know [that the] Vajra Sūtra, thus expounding [on] principles’ nature, [has] yet [to] speak [of] reaching realisation [of] principles’ nature’s then, [with] those attained [karmic] fruits’ rewards.
实报无障碍土之庄严,即《金刚经》究竟所得之果报。凡夫闻之,固当疑为无有此事。
[The] adornments of True Rewards Without Obstacle’s Land, are the same as [the] Vajra Sūtra’s those ultimately attained [karmic] fruits’ rewards. Ordinary beings hearing this, certainly will doubt, [thinking] there are none [of] these matters.
