香光庄严之意义
[73] Significance [Of] Adornment [With] Fragrance [And] Light
如来福慧功德之香，慈悲摄受之光，竖穷三际，横遍十方，普皆熏照。
[The] Thus Come [One’s] fragrance of blessings’ [and] wisdom’s meritorious virtues, [and his] light of loving-kindness [and] compassion [that] gathers [and] receives, vertically exhaust [the] three periods, [and] horizontally pervade [the] ten directions, universally [for] all, perfuming [and] illuminating.
具缚凡夫，绝不闻见。如瞽齆者，当午过旃檀林，了不知有檀香、日光也。
Completely bound ordinary beings, absolutely [do] not smell [and] see [them]. Like those blind [and with] stuffed noses, when [at] noon passing [by a] sandalwood forest, completely not knowing [it] has sandalwood’s fragrance [and] sunlight.
倘生正信心，常念佛号（阿弥陀佛），以如来万德洪名，冥熏加被，则业消智朗，障尽福崇。
If giving rise [to] right Faith’s mind, constantly mindful [of the] Buddha’s name (Āmítuófó), with [the] Thus Come [One’s] Ten Thousand Virtues’ Great Name, secretly perfuming, blessing [and] protecting, then [will evil] karmas [be] eliminated [and] wisdom [be] bright, obstacles end [and] blessings flourish.
自可随己分量，或得三昧而稍闻见，或证无生而大闻见，迄至以佛庄严而为庄严矣。
One can, according [with] personal capability, perhaps attaining samādhi, then [with] slight smelling [and] seeing, or realising non-birth, then [with] great smelling [and] seeing, extending until, with [the] Buddha’s adornments, then as adornments.
监院妙真大师，冀莅此者，同染佛香，同蒙佛光，祈题此四字（香光庄严），并以跋告来哲。
[As the] Temple Supervisor Great Master Miàozhēn, hopes those present here, [to] together [be] perfumed [by the] Buddha’s fragrance, together receive [the] Buddha’s light, [he] requested inscription [of] these four words (Adornment [With] Fragrance [And] Light), and with [this] postscript [for] informing future wise [ones].
