南齐扬都僧慧进
[6] Southern Qí [Dynasty’s] Yángdū‘s Monastic Huìjìn
慧进，年四十余，愿诵《法华》。执卷病生，乃发愿造百部，以忏业障。
Huìjìn, [at the] age [of] more [than] forty, aspired [to] recite [the Wonderful] Dharma [Lotus] Flower [Sūtra]. [When] upholding [its] scrolls [with] sickness arising, [he] then made [a] vow [to] create [a] hundred volumes [of the sūtra], with [this for] repenting [his] karmic obstacles.
化钱造毕，病亦随愈。愿以造经功德，回向净土。
[With] collecting [of] funds [and] creating [of the sūtra] completed, [his] sickness also accordingly healed. Aspiring with [the] meritorious virtues [from] creating [the] sūtra, [he] dedicated [them for reaching] Pure Land.
忽空中有声云：「汝事已办，愿亦已遂。其生净土，非汝而谁？」
Suddenly, within [the] sky, was [a] voice [that] said, ‘Your practice [is] already done, [and your] Aspiration [will] afterwards [be] fulfilled. [Of] that birth [in] Pure Land, [if it is] not you, then who [will it be]?’
进闻之，曰：「进不敢以冀上品，但下品之下，亦无退转矣。」
Jìn hearing this, said, ‘Jìn [does] not share [to be] with hope [for a] High Grade, only [for a] Low Grade below, also without retrogression.’
永明三年，年八十，无病而卒。
[In] Yǒngmíng’s third year [i.e. 485 C.E.], [at the] age [of] eighty, without sickness, [he] then departed.
