佛敕偈
Verses [On The] Buddha’s Order
佛楞严敕，
菩萨罗汉，
末法应身，
度诸轮转。
[The] Buddha, [in the] Śūraṅgama [Sūtra] ordered, Bodhisattvas [and] Arhats [to, in this] Dharma-Ending [Age] manifest bodies, [to] deliver all [from] rebirth.
作种种形，
与其同事，
称赞佛乘，
而隐身份。
[To] become all kinds [of] forms, with them together working, praising [the] Buddha’s Vehicle, yet concealing [their] identities.
不自称圣，
泄佛密因，
唯除命终，
阴有遗付。
Never personally claiming [to be] noble [beings, to] divulge [the] Buddha’s secret cause, only except [at] life’s end, secretly having [that] left [for] entrusting.
住而不泄，
泄而不住，
称而住者，
非真圣者。
[If] abiding [in the world] then not divulging, [if] divulging then not abiding. [If] claiming yet abiding, [these are] not true noble beings.
佛不明诲，
魔更乱说，
以凡滥圣，
法更速末。
If [the] Buddha [did] not clearly instruct [this, the] demonic [will] further confuse [with] claims, with [the] ordinary abusing [the] noble, [the] Dharma [will] even more quickly end.
自他瞎说，
造大妄语，
惑乱众生，
直堕地狱。
[With] oneself [and] others blindly speaking, creating great false speech, [to] confuse sentient beings, [there will be] direct fall [into] hell.
