一心作是
《观经》云：「心想佛时… 是心作佛，是心是佛」。
今谓此经「一心」持名，由此「一心」，终当「作佛」，从因至果，名之曰「作」；
即此「一心」，全体「是佛」，非因非果，名之曰「是」。

《佛说阿弥陀经疏钞》卷三
With Wholeheartedness Becoming & Being
[The] ‘Contemplation Sūtra’ says, ‘When [the] mind [has] thought [of the] Buddha… [it] is [the] mind [that] becomes Buddha, [and it] is [the] mind [that] is Buddha.’
Now speaking [of] this [Amitābha] Sūtra [on using] ‘wholeheartedness’ [to] uphold [his] name, due [to] this ‘wholeheartedness’, [in the] end will [it] ‘become Buddha’, from [the] cause until [the] effect, naming this [as] ‘become’.
Immediately [with] this ‘wholeheartedness’, [when its] complete essence ‘is Buddha’, [with] neither cause nor effect, naming this [as] ‘is’ [or ‘being’].
