秦唐弥陀经解偈
Explanatory Verses [On] Qín [And] Táng Amitābha Sūtra[s]
先一心不乱，即系念不乱，
一心即系念，阿弥陀佛号。
First, ‘wholeheartedly without being scattered’, is the same as being ‘connectedly mindful without being scattered’, with ‘wholeheartedly’ the same as being ‘connectedly mindful’ of Āmítuófó’s name.
而临命终时，佛与诸圣众，
来前后围绕，慈悲光加祐。
Then, ‘when approaching life’s end’, the ‘Buddha with many in his noble assembly’, ‘from the front and behind will [come to] surround’, ‘with loving-kindness and compassion’s [light] blessing and protecting.’
后心不颠倒，即令心不乱，
佛助真不乱，正念如此生。
Later, ‘their minds will not be inverted’, is the same as ‘enabling their minds to not be scattered’, the Buddha supports the true ‘without being scattered’, with Right Mindfulness thus arising [for birth in his Pure Land].
