[It] must [be] known [that when] mindful [of] Buddha then, your mind is Buddha.
If not mindful [of] Buddha then, your mind is not Buddha.
[The] Contemplation Sūtra says, ‘[It] is [the] mind [that] becomes Buddha, [and it] is [the] mind [that] is Buddha.’
People, even if not mindful [of] Buddha, [are] not able [to be] without thought.
Since not able [to be] without thought then, if not mindful [of] Buddha, definitely [will there be] thoughts [of the] six ordinary [paths of hell-beings, hungry ghosts, humans, asuras and gods in the cycle of birth and death].
[As] deluded thoughts [that are] inverted, all become [the] roots [and] main body [of the] cycle of] birth [and] death, therefore should [there be] mindfulness [of] Buddha.
[When] walking, standing, sitting [and] lying down, not departing [from] this mindfulness.
[With] mindfulness here [and] mindfulness there, [be] mindful until [the] roots [of the cycle of] birth [and] death [are] severed.
When going [to the] Western [Pure Land], then is [there the] high grade’s high birth.
