[257] Birth In Pure Land Is The Same As True Non-Birth

Of this mind-nature, [it] possesses immeasurable virtues. Unchanging [while] according [with] conditions, according [with] conditions [while] unchanging. In ordinary [beings] not reducing, [and] in noble [beings] not increasing.

Due [to] confusions [and] awakening not [being the] same, [this] leads to differences of [the] ten realms. Thus [are] these ten realms, each [and every] one, without [that] not [in the] mind complete, [by the] mind created, [with what the] mind becomes, [the] mind is.

[Note: The ten realms (十界) are the Ten Dharma Realms (十法界), which are the Six Ordinary Realms (六凡) of (i) Hell Beings (地狱众生), (ii) Hungry Ghosts (饿鬼), (iii) Animals (畜生), (iv) Human Beings (人), (v) Asuras (阿修罗), (vi) Heavenly Beings (天人), and the Four Noble (Enlightened) Realms (四圣) of (vii) Voice-Hearers / Śrāvakas (声闻) / Arhats ([阿]罗汉), (viii) Pratyekabuddhas (辟支佛) / Those By Conditions Awakened (缘觉) / Lone Awakeners (独觉), (ix) Bodhisattvas (菩[提]萨[埵]) and (x) Buddhas (佛[陀]).]

[The] seeking [of] birth [in the] Western [Pure Land Of Ultimate Bliss] [西方极乐世界], is the same as true non-birth. With birth in [the] Western [Pure Land] that [is in the] mind complete, [by the] mind created, [with what the] mind becomes, [the] mind is, [this is] not that [with] attachment [to] principles [and] abandonment [of] practices, emptily having its name, truly without that realm of [the] Western [Pure Land].

Thus definitely [with] birth, yet not having birth’s form, definitely without birth, yet not having [the] form of non-birth, [with] that birth [and] non-birth.

With Faith [and] Aspiration mindful [of the] Buddha[‘s name] [i.e. Āmítuófó (阿弥陀佛)], seeking birth in [the] Western [Pure Land] that [is in] one’s mind complete, [by the] mind created, [with what the] mind becomes, [the] mind is, thus although born, yet not having birth’s form, although without birth, yet not abiding [in the] form of non-birth.

These [are the] main points of [the] ‘Treatise [On] Birth [And] Non-Birth’.
