不如偈
Verses On What Would Be Better
佛陀过于人格化，忘失为人天教主。
不如皈命念弥陀，仗佛力生极乐去。
With the Buddhas excessively humanised, is to forget and lose the truth that they are Humans’ And Gods’ Founding Teachers. It would be better to take refuge for life in mindfulness of Āmítuófó [who represents all Buddhas], to rely on the Buddha’s power, to be born in his Pure Land Of Ultimate Bliss.
佛法过于人间化，忘失佛教出世间。
不如发出菩提心，今生横出三界去。
With the Buddhas’ Dharma excessively centring around this human world, is to forget and lose the truth that the Buddhas taught us to transcend the worldly. It would be better to give rise to Renunciation’s Mind and the Bodhi Mind, to in this life, horizontally exit the three realms.
佛道过于菩萨化，忘失本上求佛道。
不如生净土速成，回入下化众生去。
With the Buddhas’ path excessively centring around the Bodhisattva path, is to forget and lose the root vow to seek the Buddhas’ path above. It would be better to be born in the Pure Land for swift accomplishment, before returning to enter other worlds, to continue transforming sentient beings below.
