续勤偈
Verses [On] Continual Diligence
持续学佛，
不离正法。
持名念佛，
亲近净土。
Continuing [to] learn [the] Buddha’s [teachings, is to] not depart [from the] right Dharma. Upholding [his] name [to be] mindful [of the] Buddha, [is to] get closer [to his] Pure Land.
不续学佛，
可离正法。
不勤念佛，
何定生土？
Not continuing [to] learn [the] Buddha’s [teachings, one] might depart [from the] right Dharma. Not diligently mindful [of the] Buddha[‘s name], how can [there] definite [be] birth [in his Pure] Land?
