净土开经偈
Pure Land Sūtras’ Opening Verses
无上甚深微妙法，
乃净土念佛法门。
百千万劫难遭遇，
一切世间难信法。
The unsurpassable, extremely profound, subtle and wonderful Dharma, is thus the Pure Land Dharma Door Of Mindfulness Of Āmítuófó. In thousands of millions of kalpas, difficult to encounter, it is the Dharma that all in the world have difficulty believing in.
我今见闻得受持，
至心生起信愿行。
愿解如来真实义，
临终速往极乐去。
Now that I see and hear it, I must accept and uphold it, with the sincere mind give rise to Faith, Aspiration and Practice. And vow to understand the Thus Come One’s true meaning, when approaching life’s end, with quick rebirth in the Land Of Ultimate Bliss.
[Note: The bold text above is from the traditional (and general) Sūtra-Opening Verse《开经偈》, supposedly written by the Táng Dynasty’s Empress Wǔ Zétiān (唐代女皇武则天), while the non-bold text between its lines forms a Pure Land version, with the perspective, attitude and provisions to have when studying and/or reciting the Pure Land Tradition’s Five Sūtras《净土五经》and other related teachings.]
