诸佛诸祖究竟自利利人之甚深法海
[330] All Buddhas [And] All Patriarchs’ Extremely Deep Dharma Ocean, That Completely Self-Benefits [And] Benefits Others
了然大师，从初出家，即志宗乘。苦参力究，得其旨归。
Great Master Liǎorán, from first leaving [the] household [life], immediately aspired [to practise the Chán] Tradition’s vehicle. Painstakingly contemplating [and] diligently investigating, [he] attained that purpose [and] returned.
嗣后云游诸方，研穷经论，始知净土法门，实为诸佛诸祖究竟自利利人之甚深法海，遂生真信，而力修持。
Thereafter roaming [in] many directions, completely studying [the] sūtras [and] commentaries, then knowing [that the] Pure Land Dharma Door, truly is all Buddhas [and] all Patriarchs’ extremely deep Dharma ocean, that completely self-benefits [and] benefits others, [he] thereupon gave rise [to] true Faith, and diligently practised [it].
间有发挥禅净理致，语语确切，发人深省，乃名之为《禅净双勖》。
Intermittently bringing out [the] Chán [And] Pure [Land Traditions’] principles [and] spirit, [with] line [after] line true [and] precise, giving rise [to] people’s deep reflection, thus naming this as ‘Chán [And] Pure [Land Traditions’] Double Exhortation’.
虽仍提倡禅宗，实则注重净土。可令参禅未得悟证者，得其即生了办之道。
Although still promoting [the] Chán Tradition, [it] actually emphasises [the] Pure Land [Tradition. It] can lead those contemplating Chán, [who have] yet [to] attain awakening, [to] attain complete cultivation of [the] path [in] this immediate life.
