小因果说
[16] Small Causes [And] Effects’ Instructions
有修桥人，有毁桥人，此天堂、地狱之小因也；
[There] are persons building bridges, [and there] are persons destroying bridges, [with] these [as the] small causes of [rebirths in the] heavens [and] hells.
有坐轿人，有荷轿人，此天堂、地狱之小果也。
[There] are persons riding [in] sedan chairs, [and there] are persons bearing sedan chairs, [with] these [as the] small effects of [‘rebirths’ in the] ‘heavens’ [and] ‘hells’.
触类长之，皆可见矣。
[When in] contact [with similar] kinds [of things], extending them, all [these] can [be] seen.
常如是存心以修净土，上品往生复何疑哉！
Constantly [able to do] thus, with [the] attentive mind cultivating [the] Pure Land [path, are there the] High Grades’ rebirths. Again, what [is there to] doubt?
