二天人说
[15] Two Heavenly Persons’ Instructions
《华严经》云：「人生有二天人随人，一名同生，二名同名。天人常见人，人不见天人。」
[The] Flower Adornment Sūtra says, ‘[When a] human [is] born, [there] are two heavenly beings following [the] human, [with the] first named Same Birth, and [the] second named Same Name. [These] heavenly beings [will] constantly see [the] human, [with the] human not seeing [these] heavenly beings.’
此二天人，岂非善恶二部童子之徒欤？
[Of] these two heavenly beings, how can [they] not [be] good [and] evil’s two kinds of youths’ followers?
人之举意、发言、动步常念此二天人，见人而能无愧，如此修净土，则必上品上生。
[With the] human’s raising of thoughts, making [of] statements, [and] moving [of] steps, constantly mindful [of] these two heavenly beings, [with them] seeing [the] human, then able [to be] without shame, like this cultivating [the] Pure Land [path], then will [there be the] High Grade’s High Birth.
或曰：「一人尚有二天人，何天人之多也？」
[A] doubt says, ‘[If each] one human also has two heavenly beings, how many [of] those heavenly beings [are there]?’
曰：「一月普现一切水，岂必月之多哉？」
[To] reply, ‘[As the] one moon [can] universally appear [in] all waters, how can it be that [there] must [be] many [of] that moon?’
