[263] 念佛未能心中清净，也能得往生吗？
[263] [Is] Mindfulness [Of Āmítuó]fó Yet Able [To Have The] Mind Within Pure, Also Able [To] Attain Rebirth [In His Pure Land]?
◎ 只要信愿真切，虽未能心中清净，亦得往生。何以故？以心中有佛为能感，故致弥陀即能应耳。
◎ [Summary]: Only needing [to be with] Faith [and] Aspiration true [and] sincere, although yet able [to have the] mind within pure, [one can] also attain rebirth [in his Pure Land]. Why thus? With [the] mind within having [the] Buddha [who] is able [to] connect, thus causing [Ā]mítuó[fó to] immediately [be] able [to] respond.
念佛之法，重在信愿。信愿真切，虽未能心中清净，亦得往生。
[The] Dharma [Door] of mindfulness [of Āmítuó]fó emphasises on Faith [and] Aspiration. [With] Faith [and] Aspiration true [and] sincere, although yet able [to have the] mind within pure, [one can] also attain rebirth [in his Pure Land].
何以故？以心中有佛为能感，故致弥陀即能应耳。
Why thus? With [the] mind within having [the] Buddha [who] is able [to be] connected [to], thus causing [Ā]mítuó[fó to] immediately [be] able [to] respond.
如江海中水，未能了无动相，但无狂风巨浪，则中天明月，即得了了影现矣。
Like [the] waters within rivers [and] seas, [although] yet able [to be] completely without forms [of] motion, however, [if] without fierce winds [and] huge waves, then [will the] bright moon within [the] sky, immediately attain [its] completely clear reflections’ appearances.
感应道交，如母子相忆。彼专重自力，不仗佛力者，由于不知此义故也。
[The] connection [and] response [for] mutual interaction [is] like [a] mother [and her] child recollecting each other. Those [who] focus [on] emphasising self-power, [who do] not rely on [the] Buddha’s power, [are] due to not knowing [this] meaning thus.
