[256] 净土法门为什么被称为难信之法？
[256] Why [Is The] Pure Land Dharma Door Called [The] Dharma That [Is] Difficult [To] Believe?
◎ 净土法门，为一切法门中之特别法门。心无成见者，则易生信。知为特别法门者，则必极力提倡。将特别法门作普通法门论者，则不但不生信且将辟驳矣。以故名为难信之法。汝能信得及，许汝往生有分。
◎ [Summary]: [The] Pure Land Dharma Door is that Special Dharma Door within all Dharma Doors. [Those with] minds without preconceived views, [can] then easily give rise [to] Faith [in it]. Those [who] know [it] is [the] Special Dharma Door, then must [be with] utmost efforts [to] promote [it]. Those with [the] Special Dharma Door as [an] Ordinary Dharma Door discussing, then not only [do] not give rise [to] Faith [in it], moreover will refute [it]. Therefore, [it is] named as [the] Dharma that [is] difficult [to] believe. [If] you [are] able [to have] Faith attained [and] reached, perhaps your rebirth [in Pure Land will] have [a] part.
须知净土法门，乃如来一代所说一切法门中之特别法门。
[It] must [be] known [that the] Pure Land Dharma Door, [is] thus [the] Thus Come [One’s] that Special Dharma Door within [his] one lifetime’s all those spoken Dharma Doors.
愚夫愚妇心无成见，则易生信。
Foolish men [and] foolish women [with] minds without preconceived views, [can] then easily give rise [to] Faith [in it].
通宗通教者，知为特别法门者，则必极力提倡。
Those [who have] penetrated [the] principles [and] penetrated [the] teachings, [who] know [it] is [the] Special Dharma Door, then must [be with] utmost efforts [to] promote [it].
通宗通教而以特别法门作普通法门论，则不但不生信且将辟驳矣。以故名为难信之法。
[Those] penetrating [the] principles [and] penetrating [the] teachings, then with [the] Special Dharma Door as [an] Ordinary Dharma Door discussing, then not only [do] not give rise [to] Faith [in it], moreover will refute [it]. Therefore, [it is] named as [the] Dharma that [is] difficult [to] believe.
故光常曰净土法门，为十方三世一切诸佛上成佛道下化众生成始成终之总持法门。
Thus, [Yìn]guāng [印光] often say [that the] Pure Land Dharma Door, is [the] ten directions [and] three periods’ all Buddhas’ Total Retention Dharma Door, that [is for] higher accomplishing [of the] Buddha path, [and] lower transforming [of] sentient beings, [for] accomplishing [from the] beginning [to] accomplishing [in the] end.
故得九界（六道三乘之九法界）同归，十方共赞，千经俱阐，万论均宣也。
Thus must [the] nine realms ([the] nine dharma realms of [the] six paths [and] Three Vehicles) together return [to it, the] ten directions together praise [it, the] thousand sūtras together explain [it, and the] ten thousand treatises all proclaim [it].
汝能信得及，许汝往生有分。
[If] you [are] able [to have] Faith attained [and] reached, perhaps your rebirth [in Pure Land will] have [a] part.
