[253] 为什么净土法门应当仰信，不可怀疑？
[253] Why Should [The] Pure Land Dharma Door [Be] Reverently Believed, [And] Must Not [Be] Doubted?
◎ 古人谓净土法门，唯佛与佛乃能究尽。登地菩萨，不能知其少分。我等博地凡夫，即当仰信诸佛诸祖诚言，断不可有一念疑心。
◎ [Summary]: Ancient persons say [that the] Pure Land Dharma Door, [is] only [by] Buddhas with Buddhas thus able [to] examine completely. [Even] ground-ascended Bodhisattvas, [are] not able [to] know its small parts. We, thin ground’s ordinary beings, thus should reverently believe all Buddhas [and] all Patriarchs’ truthful words, [and] absolutely must not have one thought [with the] doubtful mind.
净土法门若信得及，何善如之。
[On the] Pure Land Dharma Door, if [with] Faith attained [and] reached, what good [is] like it?
若己智有不了，即当仰信诸佛诸祖诚言，断不可有一念疑心。疑则与古佛相背，临终定难感通矣。
If [we, with our] own wisdom, have [that] not understood, [we] thus should reverently believe all Buddhas [and] all Patriarchs’ truthful words, [and] absolutely must not have one thought [with the] doubtful mind. [With] doubts, [is] then [to be] with [the] ancient Buddhas, [turning] backs [from] one another, [when] approaching [life’s] end, definitely difficult [to] connect through.
古人谓净土法门，唯佛与佛乃能究尽。登地菩萨，不能知其少分。

夫登地大士，尚不全知，岂可以博地凡夫，妄生臆断乎？
[If] those ground-ascended Great Bodhisattvas, still [do] not completely know [it], how can it be [that] thin ground’s ordinary beings, [should] recklessly give rise [to] assumptions [and] judgements [about it]?
