[279] 为什么坚持早晚十念也能往生?
[279] Why Persisting In Morning [And] Evening [With] Ten Recitations [Is] Also Able [To Be] Reborn [In Pure Land]?
◎ 若至心发愿，早晚十念念佛，亦能往生。
◎ [Summary]: If [with the] sincere mind giving rise [to] Aspiration, [in] morning [and] evening [with] ten thoughts reciting [Āmítuó]fó’s [阿弥陀佛] [name], [this is] also able [to be] reborn [in his Pure Land (净土)].
或有公私众务，了无少暇，须于早晚十念念佛，至心发愿，亦能往生。
Perhaps having many public [and] private matters, completely without [a] little spare time, [there] must [be] in [the] morning [and] evening [with] ten thoughts reciting [Āmítuó]fó’s [name (阿弥陀佛), with the] sincere mind giving rise [to] Aspiration, [as this is] also able [to be] reborn [in his Pure Land (净土)].
以阿弥陀佛曾有愿云：「十方众生，至心信乐，欲生我国，乃至十念，若不生者，不取正觉。」是故十念念佛，亦得往生也。
With Āmítuófó actually having [a] vow saying, ‘[of the] ten directions’ sentient beings, [with the] sincere mind [of] joyful faith, desiring birth [in] my land, and even [with] ten thoughts [i.e. mindful recitations], if [there are] those not born [there, I] shall not obtain Right Awakening.’ Therefore, [with] ten thoughts reciting [Āmítuó]fó’s [name], also attains rebirth.
