[33]《无量寿经》有哪五译？
[33] [The] Immeasurable Life Sūtra Has Which Five Translations?
◎ [1]《佛说无量清净平等觉经》、[2]《佛说阿弥陀经》、[3]《佛说无量寿经》、[4]《无量寿如来会》、[5]《佛说大乘无量寿庄严经》。皆以康僧铠之 [3]《无量寿经》为准则焉。
◎ [Summary]: [They are the] [1] Sūtra [In Which The] Buddha Speaks [Of] Immeasurable, Pure [And] Equal Awakening, [2] Sūtra [In Which The] Buddha Speaks [Of] Amitā, [3] Sūtra [In Which The] Buddha Speaks [Of] Immeasurable Life, [4] Immeasurable Life Thus Come One’s Assembly, [and] [5] Sūtra [In Which The] Buddha Speaks [Of The] Great Vehicle’s Immeasurable Life’s Adornments. All [are] with Saṅghavarman’s [translation] of [the] [3] Immeasurable Life Sūtra as [the] standard only.
《无量寿经》有五译。
[The] Immeasurable Life Sūtra has five translations.
初译于后汉月支支娄迦谶，三卷，文繁，名 [1]《佛说无量清净平等觉经》。
[The] first translation [is] by [the] Later Hàn [Dynasty’s] Yuèzhī [Kingdom’s] Lokakṣema, [which] has three scrolls, [and] text complex, [is] named [the] [1] Sūtra [In Which The] Buddha Speaks [Of] Immeasurable, Pure [And] Equal Awakening.
次译于吴月支支谦，有二卷，名 [2]《佛说阿弥陀经》，故外面加一大字以别之。
[The] second translation [is] by [the Eastern] Wú [Dynasty’s] Yuèzhī [Kingdom’s] Zhīqiān, [which] has two scrolls, named [the] [2] Sūtra [In Which The] Buddha Speaks [Of] Amitā, thus outside adding [the] one ‘great’ word, with [this for] differentiating it [from the Amitābha Sūtra《阿弥陀经》].
又有赵宋王龙舒居士，会前二译及第三译，并第五赵宋译，四部取要录之，名《大阿弥陀经》。当时大兴，后因莲池大师指其有不依经文之失，从此便无人受持者。大藏内有此经，各流通处均不流通。有谓另有一种者，即此经也。
Also, [there] was [the] Zhào-Sòng [Dynasty’s] Layperson Wáng Lóngshū, [who] compiled [the] previous two translations and [the] third translation, also [having the] fifth Zhào-Sòng [Dynasty’s] translation, [which from the] four kinds selected [their] ‘essentials’ [to] record them, naming [it the] Great Amitā Sūtra. [At] that time, [it] greatly flourished. Later, because Great Master Liánchí pointed it [out to] have mistakes of not complying [with the] sūtras’ text, since then, [it is] without those persons accepting [and] upholding [it. Although the] Great Treasury within has this ‘sūtra’, [at] each distribution place, all [do] not distribute [it. There] are those [who] say [there] is another one kind, [which is] thus this ‘sūtra’.
第三译，即 [3]《佛说无量寿经》二卷，现皆受持此经，即曺魏康僧铠译。
[The] third translation, [is] thus [the] [3] Sūtra [In Which The] Buddha Speaks [Of] Immeasurable Life, [which has] two scrolls. Now, all accept [and] uphold this sūtra, [which] thus [is the] Cáo-Wèi [Dynasty’s] Saṅghavarman’s translation.
第四，即 [4]《大宝积经》第十七《无量寿如来会》。此经王龙舒未见过，乃唐菩提流志译。前有元魏名菩提留支，非唐人，世多将留支讹引之。
[The] fourth [translation, is] thus [the] [4] Great Treasures’ Collection Sūtra’s Seventeenth [Scroll’s] Immeasurable Life Thus Come [One’s] Assembly. This sūtra, [by] Wáng Lóngshū yet [to] see before, [is] thus [the] Táng [Dynasty’s] Bodhiruci’s [菩提流志] translation. Before, [there] was [a] Yuán-Wèi [Dynasty’s person] named Bodhiruci [菩提留支], [who was] not [a] Táng [Dynasty] person. [The] world [is] mostly with [this Bodhi]ruci [菩提留支] erroneously citing it.
第五译，名 [5]《佛说大乘无量寿庄严经》，赵宋法贤译。原本二卷，以宋人以所译经多为荣，故分两卷，于绝不宜分处而分，今刻书本作一卷。
[The] fifth translation [is] named [the] [5] Sūtra [In Which The] Buddha Speaks [Of The] Great Vehicle’s Immeasurable Life’s Adornments, [by the] Zhào-Sòng [Dynasty’s] Fǎxián translated. [The] original text’s two scrolls, [is] with [the] Sòng [Dynasty’s] people, with those translated sūtras [being] many as honourable, thus divided [into] two scrolls, at [the] place absolutely not suitable [to] divide then divided, [it is] now carved [and] printed [into] books as one scroll.
就中 [4]《无量寿如来会》，文理俱好，而末后劝世之文未录，故皆以康僧铠之 [3]《无量寿经》为准则焉。
With regard to [those] within, [the] [4] Immeasurable Life Thus Come [One’s] Assembly’s text [and] principles [are] together excellent, yet [is with the] final text of encouraging [the] world yet [to be] recorded. Thus, all [are] with Saṅghavarman’s [translaton] of [the] [3] Immeasurable Life Sūtra as [the] standard only.
