扑灯蛾
Lamp-Charging Moths
灯蛾之死于油火也，非死于油火也，死于见也。
Lamp moths who die ‘from’ oil fires, [do] not die from oil fires, [but] die from [their] views.
人方怜而驱之，彼必乘隙而投之，以为我之所见者，必不谬，是以一往无前，死而后已也。
Humans then pity and drive them away, [while] those [who] will exploit opportunities then throw themselves [at them]. Assuming [that] my those views, [are] definitely not erroneous, therefore [at] once going [forward] without [regarding that] front, [with] death, then after ending.
人之嗜声色、嗜货利、嗜赌博者，亦因彼之所见者，止在于此，是以一往无前，直至死而后已也，何不借鉴于蛾也？
Humans who [are] fond [of] sounds [and] forms, fond [of] goods [and] profits, [and] fond [of] gambling, [are] also because of those seen, stopping at these, therefore [at] once going [forward] without [regarding that in] front, directly until death, then after ending too. Why not borrow reflection from [the] moths too?
窗内蝇
Flies Inside Windows
痴蝇之在窗也，有盘旋往复，竟日不能出者，由其拘于所见，不能作一退步耳。
Deluded flies who [are] at windows, have those spiralling forwards [and] backwards, all day not able [to] exit, due [to] them [being] restricted by that seen, [and] not [being] able [to] take one retreating step only.
若能翻然作一退步，处处海阔天空矣。
If able [to] suddenly [and] completely take one retreating step, everywhere [will be] vast [like the] ocean [and] sky.
娑婆世界，是一个大窗槅[gé]，自古及今，不知关闭多少痴蝇于内。
[This] Sahā World is one big window partition. Since ancient [times], reaching now, not knowing shutting how many deluded flies inside.
吾今幸而忽作退步，向西飞去也。向西飞去也，快哉！
We now, [are] fortunately [able to] immediately take retreating steps, [and] towards [the] Western [Pure Land Of Ultimate Bliss] [西方极乐世界], fly [to] go [there]. Towards [the] West flying [to] go [there, how] swift!
