重病偈
Verses For The Severely Sick
身心偈
Verses On Body And Mind
放下皮囊，
身交医生。
提起佛号，
心皈医王。
Having put down the skin bag, have the body passed to the doctor. Giving rise to the Buddha’s name, have the mind with refuge in the Healing King.
不念病痛，
一心念佛。
感应弥陀，
身心柔软。
Not being mindful of the sickness and pain, be wholeheartedly mindful of the Buddha. With connection to and response from Āmítuófó, with the body and mind gentle and soft (peaceful and blissful).
生极乐国，
无有众苦，
但受诸乐，
必定成佛。
With birth in the Land Of Ultimate Bliss, without all kinds of suffering, only receiving all kinds of bliss, definitely accomplishing Buddhahood.
