If perhaps [with the] mind giving rise [to] mixed thoughts, immediately gather [the] mind [with] reverent recitation, [and the] mixed thoughts [will] immediately [be] eliminated. [There] absolutely must not [be] blindly giving rise [to] false thoughts, thinking [of] attaining supernormal [powers], attaining conditions [leading to] dharmas, attaining reputation, thinking [of] starting monasteries [and] temples. If having this kind [of] thoughts, after a long time, definitely arriving [to be] possessed [by] demons.

纵令心净妄伏,亦不可心生欢喜,对人自夸有一分就说有十分,此亦着魔之根。

Even if [the] mind [is] pure [and the] false [is] subdued, [there] also must not [be the] mind [of] giving rise [to] joy, towards others self-boasting, [with] having one part then saying having ten parts. This [is] also [the] root of [becoming] possessed [by] demons.
