[268] All Sentient Beings Have Buddha-Nature’s Constant Light
All sentient beings possess Buddha-nature’s constant light. [With] every[thing] bright [and] dark, unobstructed [and] blocked, far [and] near, all completely illuminating without omission. Certainly not needing [the] sun, moon [and] lamps’ brightness, then able [to] have [them] seen.
[How] helpless [it is, that] sentient beings [are] confused [and] ignorant [about their] fundamental nature, [with their] backs [to] awakening, joining [the] dusts. Leading Buddha-nature’s constant light, [to] change [and] become afflictions’ ignorance [i.e. without light].
Not only [are those in] dark, blocked [and] far places not able [to be] seen, even [if with that] near, before [the] eyes, if without [the] sun, moon [and] lamps’ lights, although [as big as] Mount Tài, [it is] also not able [to be] seen, moreover others?
Due [to] this reborn [in] birth [and] death’s suffering ocean, like [those] blind without [a] guide, completely without exit’s date.
