劝一切人念佛生西
[155] Encourage All People [To Be] Mindful [Of] Buddha [For] Birth [In The] Western [Pure Land]
每日量己之力，念佛并持《大悲咒》，以为自利利他之据。
Every day, [according to the] measure of [your] own strength, [be] mindful [of the] Buddha[‘s name] [i.e. Āmítuófó (阿弥陀佛)] and uphold [the] Great Compassion Mantra, with [these] relied on for self-benefitting [and] benefitting others.
对一切人，皆以信愿念佛、求生西方为劝。
Towards all people, all ‘with Faith [and] Aspiration mindful [of the] Buddha, [to] seek birth [in his] Western [Pure Land Of Ultimate Bliss] [西方极乐世界]’ as encouragement.
无论出家、在家，均以各尽各人职分为事。令一切人，先做世间贤人善人，庶可仗佛慈力，超凡入圣，往生西方也。
Regardless [of those who have] left [the] household [life or in the] household [life], all [should be] with each [to the] utmost [of] each person’s duties doing matters. Lead all people, [to] first be [this] world’s virtuous persons [and] good persons. Hopefully, [they] can rely on [the] Buddha’s compassionate power, [to] transcend [the] ordinary [and] enter [the] noble, [with] rebirth [in his] Western [Pure Land].
并不与人说做不到之大话，任人谓己为百无一能之粥饭僧。此其大略也。
Not at all with people speaking great [boastful] speech of [what] cannot [be] done. Allow people [to] call oneself [to] be [a] porridge-eating monastic, who [is with a] hundred [matters], without one able [to be done]. This [is] that [practised] generally.
