自励
Self-Encouragement
汝将死，快念佛，
心不专一，决堕地狱，
饿鬼畜生尚难求，
勿妄想人天福果。
[As] you [are] about to die, quickly [be] mindful [of Āmítuó]fó, [for if your] mind [is] not single-minded, definitely falling [into the] hells, [with] hungry ghosts [and] animals’ [paths] still difficult [to] seek, do not [have] false thoughts [of getting] human [and] heavenly blessings’ fruits.
汝将死，快念佛，
志若真诚，便预莲池，
声闻缘觉犹弗住，
定克证等妙圆乘。
[As] you [are] about to die, quickly [be] mindful [of Āmítuó]fó, [for] if [your] Aspiration [is] truly sincere, then in advance [reaching the] lotus pond, [where] Voice-Hearers [and Those By] Conditions Awakened still do not dwell, [you will] definitely [be] able [to] realise [the] equally wonderful perfect vehicle [of Buddhahood].
